FREQUENTLY ASKED Questions:

Is this program really free?

Yes. If you're a current CO SNAP (Colorado) or CalFresh (California) recipient between the ages of 18 and 24, there is no cost to participate. No fees, no catch.

Do I need prior tech experience to apply?

Not at all. This program is designed for people who are new to IT. If you're curious about technology and ready to show up three evenings a week, you're ready to apply.

What will I actually walk away with?

You'll earn a Google IT Support Certificate through Coursera — a credential that's recognized by employers across industries. You'll also build foundational job search skills, including resume writing, LinkedIn, and interview prep.

How much time do I need to commit each week?

Classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6–9 PM Mountain Time. That's 9 hours a week for 6 weeks, all online.

Is this program fully online?

Yes. All classes are held virtually, so you can participate from home as long as you have internet access and a device. We expect you to have your camera on during cohort.

What happens after I finish the program?

Graduates have the opportunity to connect with a Climb Hire career coach. If you want to keep going, you can also apply to Climb Hire's full IT Support cohort — a deeper 6-month program for the CompTIA A+ certification, with job placement support and access to our employer network.

How is this different from Climb Hire's regular IT Support program?

This is a shorter, focused introduction to IT — great if you want to explore tech before making a longer commitment. The full Climb Hire IT Support cohort is 6-months long, goes deeper with more technical training to prep for the CompTIA A+ Certificate, plus career coaching and job placement support. You must be between 24 and 40 years old to join that program.

What is the application process?

You'll start by applying on our website. From there, we'll review your application and confirm your eligibility. You may be asked to share SNAP/CalFresh documentations. Lastly, you'll attend a required Tech Orientation on June 17 to get set up with all the programs you'll need for cohort. After that, we'll see you on Day 1!
